ENG6274 의미론 특강

topic: Syntax and Semantics of Nominals

This course will deal with the syntax and semantics of nominals. We will cover the syntax of nominal structure, including DP theory and challenges to it. We will also cover the syntax and semantics of reduced nominal expressions (noun incorporation, pseudo noun incorporation) and differential object marking. A core theme of the course is how nominal arguments compose semantically with their predicates both semantically and syntactically. Cross-linguistic variation will take center stage in our investigation.
