Phonology (flapping): Listen to this video and to this video. In the first video a child star is about to sing a song suggested by a boy in the audience. In the second video, the child star is now older and is hallucinating she is a young child singing the same song. The line is, "I've written a letter to daddy." Try to listen for differences in flapping between the three speakers saying this line:

Boy: [aɪ̯v ɹɪʔn̩ ə lεɾɹ̩ ɾə dæɾi]

Girl: [aɪ̯v ɹɪʔn̩ ɐ lεɾɹ̩ tʰu dædi]

Woman: [aɪ̯v ɹɪʔn̩ ɐ lεtɹ̩ tʰu dædi]

Phonology (Korean rules): Listen to this video and try to figure out what rules of Korean phonology the people in the video are talking about? Try to write the rules.

Syntax: This video provides a clear introduction to the same points introduced in class. It provides an additional perspective that may help you understand the concepts.
